Job Summary: The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer provides outstanding technical guidance, consultative services, and innovative solutions for our clients in the consumer, scientific, industrial, and medical fields.  This role designs, tests, qualifies, and documents electrical systems/subsystems for new and existing products.  The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer works closely with other electrical, mechanical, software, research, and industrial design engineers to ensure high quality deliverables that meet project timelines and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical design & documentation

  • Design and develop products utilizing both analog and digital electronics
  • Create & implement embedded software design
  • Evaluate designs relative to applicable standards, codes, and requirements
  • Develop system architecture and schematic diagrams
  • Specify components including integrated circuits, sensors, and controllers
  • Write detailed product requirements, engineering specifications, test/assembly specifications and other technical documentation
  • Present designs and schematics to both internal team members and clients, translating highly technical concepts into language and visuals meant for broad audiences

Prototyping & Testing

  • Perform prototype testing and verification
  • Conduct root cause analyses
  • Assess and analyze products in the lab and/or field by creating test procedures, selecting appropriate sensors and data acquisition equipment, and programming data acquisition equipment if necessary
  • Test electronic sensors, controllers, and electrical components to meet performance and regulatory requirements



  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and product design
  • Analog electronics design, including experience with SPICE simulations
  • Strong electronics lab skills
  • Proficient with Altium Designer schematic capture
  • Experience working cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines
  • Experience with working on multiple projects simultaneously


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering
  • RF Design
  • Knowledgeable with FDA, UL, CE, or CSA regulatory requirements
  • Medical device and consumer product design experience
  • Altium Designer PCB Layout
  • Test Fixture Design
  • LabView software experience
  • C programming experience
  • FPGA design experience
